pneumothorax

Collapse of all or part of a lung caused by pressure from air in the chest between the pleura (the two layers of thin membranes that cover the lung). Pneumothorax is often related to illness or injury to the chest. Symptoms include sharp chest pain, shortness of breath and cough.
