Preventive guidelines

Preventive health measures are important for everyone. Based on your age and health situation, your doctor may have specifc recommendations to help you make the most of your health.

They may include guidelines about:

screenings
immunizations
healthful eating and exercise habits
injury prevention
substance use
sexual behavior
dental health
These recommendations may be based on guidelines from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices or other organizations. And, your health plan may have adopted slightly modified versions of these guidelines. So, it's important to talk with your doctor about developing a plan that's right for you.
